Primmer Olds BAS supporting The Society of St James
Primmer Olds BAS is proud to be supporting The Society of St James https://ssj.org.uk/what-we-do/; created in 1972, this is a Southampton-based homelessness charity, providing a range of supported living services in Southampton, Portsmouth and across Hampshire. They provide a wide range of support to people from all walks of life experiencing homelessness, problematic alcohol or substance use and mental health problems and support over 2500 people each year. The range of services they provide includes supported housing for homeless people, drug services throughout Hampshire, Jamie’s Computers, Victoria Cafe in the Park, Recycle Bikes, Winter Beds, Saints4Sports and a specialist residential care home.
We have recently donated 12 of our old computers to Jamie’s Computers https://jamies.org.uk who are part of The Society of St James. They professionally and ethically recycle a wide range of IT equipment. 70% of donated equipment is reused, recycled and upcycled to Microsoft standards, The rest is broken down into components and recycled. 0% of material goes to landfill.
We will continue to donate our old equipment in the future but please note that they accept IT equipment from individuals as well if you have any hanging around at home.
